Motherhood Flower Panel

This suncatcher depicts a red poppy flower protecting her seedling from the rain.  When I started sketching this piece out I was thinking about parenthood and how we will do anything to protect our babies from discomfort.  But as I started drawing the roots I realized that this mama was keeping her seedling from getting the water it needed to grow.  As a parent, the thing I struggle with the most is finding a balance between protecting and preventing growth.  Sometimes we just need to sit with them through the rainstorm rather than keeping them dry.

This item is made out of different colors and textures of hand cut stained glass.  It is soldered together with lead free solder that has a black patina on it.  It hangs from a waxed cotton cord that is adjustable.  It measures 10.5" x 8" not including the cord it hangs from.

**The roots on this are made using the copper foil overlay method and are fragile.  You will need to take special care when cleaning around them.

SHIPPING OUTSIDE THE US OR CANADA:

If you are shipping something outside of the US or Canada you may have to pay duties upon receiving the item.  I'm working on fixing this, but for now that's just how it is, sorry for any inconvenience! 

Most stained glass is made using leaded solder, but all of our items are made with Lead Free solder only. Although it is more difficult to work with than leaded solder, we feel that it is worth it.


**Care Instructions:
Over time solder does darken, and can sometimes form a white crust along the solder line. You can clean this with the green side of a sponge, just make sure it’s dry. Make sure any other cleaning is done with a clean dry cloth or microfiber towel. 

I do not recommend hanging glass from a suction cup or command strip, I know from experience that they are not reliable and frequently fall!
